DESCRIPTION
The project involves the demolition of an old migrant workers' residence and restoring its capacity through the construction of two new facilities: a 79-unit social residence and a Centre for Asylum Seekers (CAS) with a capacity of 105 places.
The project, through its volume, asserts the urban character of the plot while respecting its neighbours and the context through judiciously placed setbacks. The single-building design makes it impossible to distinguish between the 2 programmes and reinforces the integration of the different populations and their participation in community life.
The project is built around two asymmetrical wings set perpendicular to Avenue du Val Notre-Dame. This gives the building a horseshoe shape. This frees up a large central space that defines a communal courtyard or social area for the enjoyment of the residents.
