DESCRIPTION
The consultation launched by the OSICA group concerns the rehabilitation of three 11 floors, bar-type buildings in the commune of Sarcelle. Architectural symbols of the housing crisis of the 1970s, the bars stand out from the surrounding housing by their size, which is close to the peripheral blocks and towers. Their volumetrics create an urban link between the low and elongated buildings and those that are high and punctual. The rehabilitation of these architectural objects is an opportunity for the city to revalorize a neighborhood by improving the habitat and its image.
Thus the rehabilitation project must respond to three major issues:
- energy’s performance improvement,
- improving the comfort of the housing units
- improvement of the common areas.
We keep the existing facades as a support to install a new thermally efficient cladding. The challenge is to minimize the intervention in an occupied site to ensure the comfort of the inhabitants during the works.
The project proposes a contemporary interpretation of the buildings with the implementation, on the last two floors, of a different finish from the other levels. The champagne-colored sheet metal marks their crowning and their position in the urban fabric.
